There isn’t a lot to say in this post. All I can say is that these artists took up 95% of the airtime on EuropaFM in Spain, which was the only English music station available across the whole country. Needless to say, after a few thousand kilometres, I never want to hear these artists again*.

Jason DeRulo
Katy Perry
Michael Jackson
Jessie J feat. Bob(?) – whatever, the song was Price Tag
Nelly Furtado
Enrique Iglesias

*Except Katy Perry’s Firework. That song is undeniably catchy. Even Monkey loves it.

Before we left Australia, Spain was the place I was most excited about visiting. The reason? Sunshine, sangria and tapas, in all seriousness. In researching where to visit in the 17 days we have here, I knew Madrid and Barcelona had to be on the list, but also picked Granada and San Sebastien. Apparently, these two places do FREE tapas with every drink you order. Sounds too good to be true! But first, we had two nights in Madrid. We quickly discovered that the city is easily explored on foot, which we did with a free walking tour courtesy of Sandemans New Europe. But it’s best to take shelter around 8pm each evening, when the summer rains hit the city hard. The city itself felt comfortable and alive, with a wealth of history behind it’s rise to becoming Spain’s capital. Here are a few photos I captured on the 2 days we were there.
